“PRADA GALLERIA”, ONE HUNDRED YEARS IN MILAN

Milano 1913, Mario Prada opened a shop in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, where rich Italians and foreigners went to buy luggage, trunks, bags and shoes. One hundred years later, July 20th 2013, in front of that first store that has rendered iconic the black and white checkered floor, opens the first venue "Prada Gallery", the initial step of an ambitious project that will take some time before it is fully completed.

Prada has Milano in its heart, not surprisingly the name of the city is carved on the logo’s nameplate that is recognized and recognizable in every corner of the world; and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in the heart of Milan, which is why there could be no better way to celebrate an anniversary as important as the first one hundred years of history.

"Prada Galleria" will offer in its 5,000 square meters a wide variety of spaces: the one already open to the public and dedicated to men's collections, a restaurant,  spaces for special events, areas dedicated to the Prada Foundation, and also some offices. In the usual Prada style, which respects and fosters, on every occasion, the spaces provided to the flagship stores with their logo hoisted on them, the building will be subject to a full redevelopment using highly advanced techniques in full compliance with regulations and having  energy savings as the main objective. But it seems that Prada is sparing no efforts or energies while investing in the market and in his Milano.
