Sky Watcher: Trussardi celebrates the 40th anniversary of the greyhound

On Wednesday 4th December, both in Milan and Tokyo, Trussardi celebrated the 40th anniversary of its logo, the famous greyhound that first appeared on the clothes and accessories of the fashion house in 1973.

Tomaso Trussardi hosted the event, which took place at the flagship store in Piazza Scala, Milan, with local delicacies prepared by Louis Taglienti and the DJ set Fujiko Takasugi. Whereas Gaia Trussardi welcomed guests to the prestigious restaurant Two Rooms in the centre of Tokyo. The main feature of the two evenings was the short movie "Sky Watcher" directed by James Lima, now on the website Trussardi.com

The short film is a celebration both of the logo and of the city of Milan. It is night-time when the constellations of Sirius and Leparus start an amusing race through the most evocative corners of the city, from Piazza Duomo to the Navigli canals. The greyhound, the statue situated in the Milan store magically comes to life as soon as the store manager locks up; it then follows the hare in a playful game of hide-and-seek. The game lasts until dawn, just in time for the Trussardi animal emblem to return for opening time.

"The greyhound is a distinct symbol of curiosity and elegance with a vein of irreverence, which is why we decided to celebrate it in a modern and fun way". These are the words of Gaia Trussardi, the brand’s Creative Director, echoed by director James Lima: "The greyhound embodies the spirit of the stars shining in the sky. While Milan is asleep, the stars come down to earth to play with her".
