Emilio Pucci presents “Cities of the World”

Florence, Rome, New York, Paris, Shangai, Hong Kong are the protagonists of “Cities of the World”, the special foulard collection by Emilio Pucci featuring exclusive prints representing real-life scenes from these cities.

The project is inspired by the iconic Baptistery foulard of 1957 depicting Piazza Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence in such bright colours as lemon yellow, mandarin orange, “Emilio pink” and fuchsia. The print - which took centre stage again in June 2014 with the Pucci Monumental Project covering the famous Florentine monument with 2000 square metres of printed fabric - is one of the drawings selected for this special project that turns the legendary Emilio Pucci foulards into wearable or collectable silk postcards.

Bold and bright strokes, with exactly the same colour hues from the Pucci palette, paint Rome’s Piazza di Spagna, Shanghai’s lantern dotted skyline, the elegant Avenue Montaigne in Paris, the skyscrapers and monuments of Hong Kong, Madison Avenue and Central Park viewed from the sky of New York. The foulards, printed in Como and hemmed and finished by hand, are already available on the e-commerce by the Tuscan fashion house and will be on sale very soon in a few selected Emilio Pucci stores.
