NewLife, the new Max Mara Weekend project

The Max Mara group confirms its attention for the sustainability issue by introducing the NewLife project.

The 2015 fall/winter collection of the Max Mara Weekend brand features a selection of clothes made of a special Made-in-Italy hi-tech fabric produced using the NewLife yarn. A happy encounter of sustainability, quality and attention for fashion, i.e. the values that have always characterized the activity of the Max Mara Group.

NewLife, a registered trademark of the Sinterama Group, is the result of the High Tech Conversion Model: the yarn is spun from plastic bottles recovered in Italy. The plastic bottles are turned into a polymer suitable for spinning through a 100% Made-in-Italy mechanical rather than chemical process. An innovative and fully traceable process, that ensures huge savings in water and energy as well as a remarkable reduction in CO2 emissions.

The project testifies to the Max Mara Group’s attention for sustainability, a new challenge for the Made-in-Italy industry as well as a commitment which Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is promoting through the Sustainability Manifesto for Italian  Fashion.
