London celebrates Italian fashion

Last night, in the magnificent Italian Embassy in London, a celebration cocktail party was offered in honour of Sonnett Stanfill, curator of the exhibitition “The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014” that was on at the V&A Museum from April 5th  to July 27th 2014.

At the party, organized in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Fashion Film Festival Milano, guests were welcomed by the Italian Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano and the President of the Italian Trade Commission Riccardo Monti.

During her speech, centred on the value of Italian fashion, Jane Reeve, CEO of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana pointed out that the undisputable and internationally renowned quality of Made-in-Italy products is the result of synergic work: the perfect match between our designers’ creativity and the craftsmanship of Italian artisans.

Furthermore, echoing the words of Riccardo Monti, she argued that the fashion industry is an important and strategic sector for the Italian economy, stressing in particular the fact that behind every creation there is a supply chain involving different skills and many players.

During the evening, designers Stella Jean and Marco De Vincenzo had the opportunity to show their creations by means of some installations: both had been selected by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to represent the new talents of Italian creativity, i.e. the future of the very same Made in Italy narrated by the exhibition “The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014” retracing the history of its last sixty years.

Eventually, Constanza Cavalli Etro introduced the Fashion Film Festival Milano project, of which CNMI is Main Sponsor, and during the evening guests were able to watch some of the fashion films that had been screened during the September 2014 Milano Moda Donna fashion week.
