UNAR, CNMI and AFG sign a Protocol Agreement to combat discriminatory phenomena in the fashion industry.

The National Anti-Racial Discrimination Office (Ufficio Nazionale Antidiscriminazioni Razziali della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri - UNAR), Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) and African Fashion Gate (AFG) have signed a Protocol Agreement for tracking, reporting and combating discriminatory phenomena across the entire fashion industry.

The collaboration between the three organizations advocated by Mattia Peradotto, Co-ordinator at UNAR, has the following aims: to promote equal treatment of all players in the fashion industry, raise awareness among professionals, businesses and everyone else operating in the sector and encourage them to act in favour of inclusion, promote and integrate diversity, monitor discrimination in fashion, analyze its causes, consequences and effects and propose appropriate solutions, organize awareness raising campaigns for both a culture of respect for human rights and equal opportunities and the denunciation of all social discrimination.

The protocol, the first of its kind in the field of fashion, was presented in Milan on 20 February (at 9.30) at the Fashion Hub (Sala Parlamentino) in Palazzo Giureconsulti, piazza dei Mercanti 2.

During the conference, Carlo Capasa, Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, announced that Tamu McPherson will be the CNMI Ambassador for Diversity and Inclusion and will support the Association's DE&I initiatives.
