Resonance: Voices of Seoul redefines the “Korean wave" as more than just a trend reaching shores overseas: the project represents waves of vibrancy, depth, and reverberations that evoke universal images, memories, and emotions. The exhibition, a special collaboration between Seoul Fashion Week and Milano Fashion Week®, showcases five Korean designers who are at the forefront of contemporary Korean fashion design today.

Though each designer expresses a unique frequency and voice, they are united by the themes of resilience, connection, and intangible heritage, all central to Korean culture.

Seoul’s fast pace, dynamic culture, and innovative technology complement Milan’s rich heritage, dedication to craftsmanship, and status as a European fashion capital. The designers featured were carefully selected by a jury for their ability to exemplify the core values of this collaboration.

This exhibition was organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and CNMI.

The event is one of the many initiatives on which Blanc Media and CNMI have worked together in recent years. The goal of A Global Movement to Uplift Underrepresented brands is to give visibility and business opportunities to designers who are underrepresented on the prestige international arena that is Milano Fashion Week. The brands selected for the 3rd edition are BRUCEGLEN, ELIELS, and SABIRAH.

A Global Movement to Uplift Underrepresented Brands is a project created by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with Teneshia Carr, owner and Editor in Chief of Blanc Magazine, to give visibility and professional and business opportunities to underrepresented designers. During Milan Fashion Week, from Tuesday, Feb. 21 to Monday, Feb. 27, the collections are presented inside the Fashion Hub of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is for the second time dedicate a space to a selection of young African brands belonging to a new generation of designers embodying the powerful identity of African fashion, which is known for its fervid creativity, handcraft excellence, focus on sustainability and engagement in concrete ethical projects: GOZEL GREEN; OMER ASIM; STUDIO 189; THEBE MAGUGU and MAISON ARTC.

The creations of the last two of these designers are also featured in “Inspired by night”, a fashion film directed by The Blink Fish and shot in Fidenza Village, one of the 11 Villages of The Bicester Village Shopping Collection®. This film is part of a wider reaching collaboration with The Bicester Village Shopping Collection®, which in the 25th year of style is renewing its long-standing support for emerging fashion talents. The Bicester Village Shopping Collection® has a long-term commitment in fact to help rising stars in the fashion industry develop their creative and commercial potential, which it does with personalized mentoring programmes, training and pop-up boutiques built in 11 shopping destinations around the world.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is for the first time dedicating an entire space in its Fashion Hub Market to a selection of 4 young African brands who will present their 2020 spring/summer collections during Milano Fashion Week, a splendid opportunity to exploit the event’s visibility and international business and networking potential.

CNMI’s choice reflects Africa’s increasingly important role in the fashion system, as a new generation of designers is reasserting the powerful identity of African fashion.
The four brands to be featured in the Fashion Hub all show dynamic inspirations and creativity, the unique traits of a long tradition of craftsmanship, a focus on sustainability and engagement in concrete ethical projects.
The challenge is to raise the curtain on a reality that is still largely unknown to fashion week habitués.
