The Act of Hand-weaving as a process of interlacing stories and reminiscences.

An oneiric dimension that becomes reality by means of textiles which, like Materic Creatures, come to life taking its place in the present as a memory encapsulated in a physical body that travels through time.

A reality which, in its own small way, presents a resurrection of Noir, forging a powerful new connection between this element and Planet Earth.

Each Creature is unique and unrepeatable; it results from an irrational creative process, the authenticity and brutal beauty of imperfection of a slow and meticulous artisanal process.

DESIGNER

Ilaria was born in Monza in 1997. Her grandfather was a menswear tailor in a small atelier in the North of Italy; Ilaria used to spend many afternoons with him during her childhood, and the authenticity of the artisanal processes, involved in the creation of each garment, has always fascinated her. Ilaria studied Fashion Design at Polimoda (Florence), focusing throughout her career on the study of Black and textile manipulations. She graduated in 2021, completing her studies with an internship as part of the materials research team at Rick Owens, and presenting her graduation collection at the Digital Milan Digital Fashion Week. During the same year, she was awarded the Polimoda Talent Award and, thanks to the support of a team of experts, she launched her own brand, a synergic dimension where textiles, design, research and nature can come together.

Ilaria Bellomo founded her own brand in Florence in 2022, dedicating herself to the study of color Noir through matter to enhance its shades and complexity, forging a powerful new connection between this element and Planet Earth.

Precious textiles, garments and objects that, as materic Creatures, come to life, taking its place in the present as a memory encapsulated in a physical body that travels through time.

The Act of Weaving is a process of interlacing stories and reminiscences: textiles are created with a wooden hand-weaving loom, using fine natural yarns and fragments of vintage/antique textiles and garments, or with other artisanal techniques.

Each Creature is unique and unrepeatable; it results from an irrational creative process, the authenticity and brutal beauty of imperfection of a slow and meticulous artisanal process.
