Ignacio Rodriguez Munoz

Born of Spanish parents in the Dominican Republic, Ignacio grew up in Mexico and Spain, so his background is multicultural. Milan helped him reconcile his yearnings for freedom and identification and led him to imagine a project that brings down gender barriers and describes a future in which relationships between nationality and clothing will be totally rethought. This story revolves around D’Éon de Beaumont, French chevalier and spy under Louis XV, who was one of the first examples of trangenderism in history, having been born female but lived the life of a man. This men’s collection in fact uses many elements of the female wardrobe to challenge the centuries-old bipolar distinction observed in traditional clothing.
